History

In 1952, Haji Khair Din (L) established a trading firm of agriculture commodities mainly the rice at the grain market of Nankana Sahib. The firm actively worked for the farming community and practiced 'fair trade'. Due to the professional integrity, honesty and excellence, the firm soon became renowned as 'Sona' (meaning 'Gold')

In 1967, he founded the first rice sheller 'Sona Rice Mills', at Bucheki with an initial capacity of few thousand tons per crop year. Soon his son Abdul Ghani, a young man fired with entrepreneurial zeal, took care of the company. He followed his father's mantar 'See your success in the success of your customers' and single-handedly nurtured his company into a strong team of professionals, committed to the Values that he always cherished and stood for: Trust, Honesty, Commitment and Quality.

All these years, Sona Rice Mills was widely supported by the farming community, a edge which always helped SRM to produced premium quality rice at best price. Throughout out history, we have been able to maintain uniform quality of our rice, which has been the basic ingredient of our success.

Today, Sona Rice is exporting rice across the globe and is proud to be the preferred supplier of its customers'.
